Please note: This adapter is specifically designed for the 2016 MacBook Pro equipped with Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C 40Gbps) ports. It is not compatible with USB-C ports operating at 5Gbps or 10Gbps found on some other MacBook models. Ensure your MacBook Pro meets this specification for proper functionality.

The Thunderbolt 2 port allows connection to devices like external hard disks and Apple Displays. It does not support Mini DisplayPort devices or function in Mini-DP mode.

This Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter enables you to connect Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 devices, such as external hard drives and Thunderbolt displays, to the Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports on your 2016 MacBook Pro. This allows you to continue using your existing Thunderbolt 2 peripherals with your newer MacBook Pro.

Being a bidirectional adapter, it also supports connecting newer Thunderbolt 3 devices to older Macs equipped with Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt 2 ports. This provides backwards compatibility, extending the lifespan of your devices. *Operating System Requirement: macOS Sierra. This adapter is not compatible with Windows.

Important Notes:

This adapter is not compatible with Mini DisplayPort devices.

This adapter is designed exclusively for the 2016 MacBook Pro running macOS Sierra. It will not function on Windows-based systems.

This adapter is incompatible with USB-C ports operating at 5Gbps or 10Gbps.

When daisy-chaining accessories, this adapter does not replicate the full functionality of the Thunderbolt ports found on MacBook Airs and older MacBook Pro models.

Fantastic Performer - Quiet and Looks Great!

recently upgraded my aging GTX 1060 to the Asrock AMD Radeon RX 6600 Challenger White 8GB, and I'm absolutely thrilled with the performance boost! Games that used to stutter on medium settings now run buttery smooth on high or even ultra at 1080p. I was particularly impressed with how quiet this card is. The 0dB Silent Cooling really works - during normal use and even in less demanding games, the fans don't spin at all. When they do kick in, they are barely audible compared to my old card.

Installation was straightforward, and the drivers from AMD were easy to install. The white design of the card also looks fantastic in my case and adds a nice touch. I've been playing titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Forza Horizon 5, and the RX 6600 handles them all beautifully at my 1080p 144Hz monitor. While I haven't tried much 1440p gaming yet, early tests suggest it's definitely viable for many games at reasonable settings.

We recently upgraded our network infrastructure with the Cisco Meraki Catalyst C9300L-24UXG-4X-M switch, and the difference has been night and day. As a growing tech startup, we were starting to feel the limitations of our older gigabit switches, especially with the increasing demand from our developers and the adoption of faster Wi-Fi 6 access points. This Meraki switch has been a fantastic investment.

The Good:

Blazing Fast Speeds: The 10 Gigabit mGig ports are incredible! Our developers who work with large codebases and virtual machines have noticed a significant improvement in their network speeds. The ample PoE budget gives us the flexibility to add more powered devices in the future without worrying about capacity.

Stacking Kit is Separate: We plan to add another switch in the future for redundancy and increased port density, so we'll need to purchase the stacking kit separately. It would have been nice if a basic kit was included.
